At New York Private Finance, we provide private lending solutions for the clients of advisors, intermediaries, and other trusted professionals. Borrowers find New York Private Finance through various means: the internet; personal referrals; our media presence; and professional advisors of all types. These latter include: accountants; attorneys; brokers; and financial advisors of many sorts. What they all share is deep relations of trust with potential borrowers. After all, we are talking about an individual’s personal balance sheet, investment plans, and probably personal cash flows. Although all these are not necessarily available to the advisor, a fundamental understanding of the client’s financial circumstances is a basic underpinning of any trusted advisor relationship.
Such relationships lead to referrals to NYPF because our loans resolve problems for their clients that no-one else can address. We are less constrained by regulation than are the larger private banks. Conversely, our structure as a subsidiary of a medium-sized bank means that we have permanent capital available to us as well as the back-office infrastructure to move efficiently in structuring and funding loans.
From the intermediaries’ point of view, however, NYPF is the ideal partner. Not only do we solve otherwise intractable problems, but we do so with no desire to take the relationship beyond the loan in question. The proprietary relationship of client / advisor is untouched by NYPF. We do not want to manage money for the client. We do not want to provide debt or equity financing at the corporate level. Nor do we seek any kind of investment banking mandate or to provide any commercial banking services. We just want to structure a personal loan facility according to a well-established set of principles that guide all our financings and do not impinge on other needs. Accordingly, introducing NYPF into a valued client or personal relationship does nothing to threaten the basis for that relationship. We solve problems that others cannot address and then leave the existing relationship where it was, albeit stronger than before.
